from jerusalem to illyricum

David & Lynn Webb head up the work from Thessaloniki, they married in 1982. They have consistently worked in pioneer situations and seen faith as a journey… Thessaloniki is no exception.

In 1997 they received a call to move to this city to pioneer an Apostolic team, which today is forming into an exciting spiritual community.  They moved with their family and a small team to the region where east meets west in order to pioneer a new way of living and working.

Eleven years later, Thessaloniki is home. The family, Rachel, Carolyn & Joanna, are now grown up. The two eldest girls are married and mothers. Together with their husbands, Jamie Barnes & David Carter, they play an important part in the community life here.

In addition we are connected to a host of people across the region and beyond, many of whom share a similar vision, 'to express true spirituality in a way that is relevant to the 21st century.'

Our passion is to embrace all who are seekers, who are willing to embark on an adventure and experience fullness of life, not so preoccupied with the ultimate destination but desiring to explore the journey.

The team have all been a part of mainline Church in the past but have a growing sense that Church as we know it is in transition, moving away from “what church can do for me” to “how can I change the world I am part of”. The future is ours for the taking. It is our desire to establish spiritual communities that offer peace, life and faith as well as support and insight into the complexities of our day. Gathering in homes, we share meals and take part in conversation, discussion and reflection.  We seek to share life with those who have the desire to explore realms of life that most don’t know. Settling has not featured very highly in our life.

Recently we have seen our connections spread in all directions, our community growing and - more importantly, fresh priorities being established.

Alongside this many men & women of the new generation seek to hang out to embrace a life of discipleship. These folk, some local’s but others from afar visit, chat via Skype or email on a regular basis.
